The Waldorf School of Mendocino County has been thrilled to have an experienced Eurythmist teaching our students for the last two years. We are now seeking a replacement. Our students have had an excellent introduction and are ready to continue with their next teacher. We are open to a year-round program or several long (approximately 10 week) blocks. We can offer reasonable compensation, hire an accompanist and have a dedicated movement room.
We look for teachers who are committed to:
§ continually working toward a deepening understanding of the developing child, particularly out of the spiritual insight of Anthroposophy.
§ recognizing students as developing spiritual beings, each with individual destinies and unlimited potential, and to educate them with active interest, joy and enthusiasm.
§ teaching subjects artistically and imaginatively based on the threefold nature of the child, and in support of their physical and spiritual forces.
§ striving to enrich the feeling quality of the children’s inner lives and to connect their will forces with their awakening thinking capacities.
§ working on inner development and strive to improve one’s talents and capacities.
§ relating in a healthy, life supporting, and responsible manner with the school community (parents, students, colleagues, and alumni), by working together out of one’s higher self.
We offer a competitive salary and benefits including tuition remission, mentoring and on-going teacher development and training opportunities.
Now in our 45th year, the Waldorf School of Mendocino County offers an authentic Waldorf program, a dedicated College of Teachers, an experienced faculty, and a supportive Board, staff, and parent community. We are centrally located between Rudolf Steiner College in the Sacramento area and the rich offerings provided in the greater San Francisco Bay Area. We are one of the oldest Independent Waldorf Schools in Northern California and are a Developing Member of the Association of Waldorf Schools of North America (AWSNA).
Mendocino County maintains its rural flavor, yet offers a uniquely cultural and progressive experience, as only Northern California can. The greater community provides an excellent junior college, a rich mixture of performance and visual arts, organic and biodynamic agriculture, farmer’s markets and organic restaurants and shops. Vineyards, redwoods, and the nearby Pacific Coast make this is a wonderful place to raise a family.
